Dear readers. I had such a wonderful day today. This morning I found some old tea bags in the trash bin behind a restaurant. I thought to myself just how yummy tea and crumpets would be for breakfast. I searched the bin for a little while but, sadly, there were no crumpets to found. I did, however find a very nice styrofoam cup. Once I rinsed the yucky tobacco juice out of it the cup was almost like new. I, then, added some hot water from the men’s room at the Shell station around the corner and soon had a nice cup of tea. It was a bit weak and the water was more tepid than hot but beggars can’t be choosers……Haha! I made a joke!
I was still a bit disappointed that I had no crumpets but soon a bit of luck came my way. A nice little old lady was sitting on a park bench drinking coffee and eating a donut. She dropped half of her donut but must have had enough of it as she didn’t bother to pick it up. When she walked away I hurried over to the bench. I could almost taste the donut as I approached it. Then, out of nowhere, a big silly pigeon landed, picked up the donut and flew off. My heart sank. However, when I reached the spot I saw that the donut the little old lady dropped was a powdered sugar donut and a good portion of the powdered sugar and a few crumbs still remained on the sidewalk. Joy of joys, my breakfast was not ruined. I just had to lay down. Then it was sip the tea, lick the concrete, sip the tea, lick the concrete. I felt ever so upper class. The whole park was my table.
Later, as I was walking by the train tracks, I found a very nice pair of sneakers. Oddly enough, there were still feet inside them. The nice police officer told me that someone, probably, passed out on the tracks as a train was coming. I believe “passed out” is police talk for took a nap. The officer said I could keep the sneakers but not the feet. They are a bit large for me but if I put some newspaper in them they should fit just fine. The newspaper should absorb some of the blood as well.
Thank you for visiting. I must go find something for Cecil to eat. I think I saw a dead pigeon on the corner. He might enjoy that.
